quickie

Sorry for the delay in posting, i know that there are hundreds of you out there awaiting my every post with bated breath, but i have been so busy with the day job (and recently evening and night job as well) i haven't felt up to blogging... but while i wait for the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy audio book to download from itunes i thought i would do you a quickie....

we had ian and emily down this weekend which was good, we showed them around our favorite bits of poole and and did a whistle stop tour of bournemouth... also got a chance to go our local pub which is something we should do more often as its just up the road and it gives me a chance to practice talking to people face to face rather than though the computer... that was a joke by the way...

three things occupying my mind apart from work...

1 darleks

2 the election, and

3 itunes

the darleks, or at least a darlek is coming back to doctor who this saturday and i'm very excited, i got my special edition radio times today and i cant stop looking at the photos, seeing it on the 'next time' trailer after last weeks doctor who made the hairs on my neck stand on end... don't know why (lesley would say its because i'm a nerd) but i think it has something to do with my traumatic experience at madam tusauds when i was six when i went into the tardis with my dad which had a smiling statue of the doctor waving out side (peter davidson i think) along side k9 and inside there was a load of darleks... moving around!!! and screaming exterminate! EXTERMINATE!!! i screamed so loudly i my dad was asked to remove me from the exhibition....

Im finding the election very exciting, but no one else seems to, especially lesley mum who cant wait for it to end... had a bit of a rant at ian this weekend because he said he might not vote, but he ichated to me that he has postal voted and he voted labor, for which he apologied knowing my liberal tendencies. i said i didnt mind as long as he voted and knew why he did do the way he did... anyway because i was frustrated by nt being able to vote this year donated a tenner to the lib dems and signed up as a memeber insted

itunes is getting addictive, its to easy to buy stuff

check this out if you can its excellent, do not much about it as its all in french but i cant stop playing it

Swansea and Cool Downloads

Hello everyone,
had great time in swansea with tamsin and leon, sat around on saturday night drinking many bottles of wine after an amazing dinner cooked by tams. leon and i had a good nerdout pitching different ideas for screenplays to each other while the girls took the piss.

on sunday we went and looked around toys r us, i think its been long enough since i worked there to enjoy looking at all the rubbish in there again, bought a mr incredible doll... i mean action figure... ahem... to keep me company in the studio...

also made leon drive me to the bit of swansea where the recent victorian doctor who was filmed...

... sad eh... not even a police box in sight : (

in related news saw on 'aint it cool' that Christopher Eccleston is rumored to play silas in the upcoming da vinci code movie... knew he had a movie thing lined up to make him quit... i was expecting bond though...

doctor who on saturday was okay btw, not one of the best so far, any of the others would have made better two parters...

anyway im going to sign off befr this gets too nerdy, but before i do check out pixelgirl presents for really amazing desktop pics and really really cool icons (especialy if you are running osX

Who i should be votting for...

The general election is coming up and i cant vote!

All because I was in Australia when the voting forms came back and when i did return i didn't have a fixed address in time to register, oh well i will have to wait for another 4 years...

but what i am going to try and do it get all my friends and family to THINK about their vote and USE it...

if linked to a really good site off of popbitch which gives you a set of questions and suggests to you what way you should be voting from your answers...
no real surprise for me the way mine went but why don't you have a go and see if your views match up with the way you think you might vote...

laters ross

Who should Ross vote for?

Ross' expected outcome:Liberal
Democrat

Ross' actual outcome:

Labour
-38

Conservative
-37

 Liberal
Democrat 51
UK
Independence Party -14
 Green
21

Ross should vote: Liberal Democrat

The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

didn't get much sleep last night either, listened to the hypo mp3 three times but just when i was drifting off i found out that the cat had gotten into the room and she jumped on the bed so i had to do a nudey chase around the bed room to catch her and put her out... i had no chance really did i....

lesley's dad has made a copy of an old hypno tape he had to try and put me into a sleepy trance tonight so fingers crossed... and i will make sure the cats are well and truly locked out this time....

the pic is out of one of the iron man books i won on ebay recently... the iron man is the book that the brilliant film, the iron giant which was based on (directed by the same guy who made the incredibles) i cant remember what the book is like but i remember watching it being read on jaconory and being really frightened... i recently found out that t was read by tom 'doctor who' baker with a shaved head.... no wonder i was frightened, when i meet him in real life i was shaking like a leaf... anyway i have scanned the illustrations out of one of the copies i got (drawn by andrew davidson) and made desktop pictures out of them... if you want you can download them from here: IRONMAN PICS enjoy... i will scan the other pics )by george adamson), which in my opinion are even better an put a link up v soon.

wot i didn in BRISTOL

bristol...What has been happening?

i went to Bristol this weekend to catch up wit our friend adam, not to be confused with my brother of the same name (i will upload a great pic of him in a min) he was on good form as usual, it took even less time than usual for him to get into the his mental, anarchic mania than usual... which is a good thing as he is one of the few people who has the same sense of humor as lesley and i (our friend Cecile in Australia being the other (i probably spelt her name wrong sorry 'suppress'), but melbourne is a long way to go for a joke about marshmallows - cecile if you are reading this we will catch you on ichat soon, missing you...
i wont go into what adam les and i ended up talking about as i will end up sounding like those awful people who are always telling you how 'mad' they are and what a crazy sense of humor they have (remember the officebore on the fast show... please don't let people think i'm like him...) either that or you will think we are all very dangerous criminals... but one thing you can try at home is doing a running commentary on all your everyday chores to the tune of the verse of the hokey-cokey (not the in-ou-in-out chorus mind, that would spoil it....).... told you you think i weird now don't you? i suppose you had t be there really.

...anyway bristol was great as usual, i would love to live close to it so that it was my 'big town', much nicer than cardiff and bournemouth (sorry all my friends in both) the only downer was that we didn't meet any of the cast of casualty this time... not that i would recognize anyone anymore apart form our old friend charlie... we did get to see chris eubank when we went to see zoe and mike in brighton the other day so you would have though it was the least that bristol could have done for use don't ya....

while in bristol I had a bit f a spend-fest, which i regretted as all the way home, but i suppose its done now.. i got a lonely planet of southern India for my sister who is going off to work there for 9 weeks soon, expect a link to a blog site that i am going to set up for her here v.soon. i also bought adam a copy of the futureheads album which i introduced to him because of his love of robots:

I am a robot, living like a robot, talk like a robot, in the habititting way

Look up to the sky (robot), you can trample over me (robot)
Do anything you do, now the ground has gone

I am a robot, living like a robot, talk like a robot, in the habititting way

In the future we all die (robot), machines will last forever (robot)
Metal things just turn to rust, when you're a robot

I am a robot, living like a robot, talk like a robot, in the habititting way

The best thing is our life span (i don't mind)
We last nigh on hundred years (i don't mind)
If that mean's we'll be together i don't mind
I have no mind, i have no mind

Im programmed to follow you (robot), do exactly as you do (robot)
Now my nervous system's blue , i feel fine

I am a robot, living like a robot, talk like a robot, in the habititting way

The best thing is our life span (i don't mind)
We last nigh on hundred years (i don't mind)
If that mean's we'll be together i dont mind (i have no mind)
The best things last a life time (i have no mind)
When you age i will not change (i have no mind)
I think i'll be around forever if you dont mind

I have no mind, why don't (i have no mind) (robot)
(repeate)

www.futureheads.com.... another experiment to see if links work when blogging from an email...

Really like the furureheads at the moment, takes a while to get used to their voices but seeing their videos and live stuff on the dvd that adam got with the album they seem to have a good sense of humor, the only thing is the front man looks a bit frightening to me... don't know if i would like to see them live.... it isnt often that adam like the same sort of music to me so it was a special enough occasion to buy him the present....

he bough les and i a present also, infernal devices by phillip reeve, the sequel to the amazing 'mortal engines' and a 'predators gold' looking forward so much to reading it, ive got to be quick as les and her mum both want to read it really badly as well (i don't mean they will miss read words and read the chapters in the wrong order or anything like that - just hat they REALLY want to read it) - there will probably be a link for this in the side bar soon... i think i can do a link list via blogger and if i can that will all change so its not worth updating quite yet.

also bought 'happiness in magazines' by graham coxon for £15... dont know what came over me... what a rip off!!! it a great album but i could have bought it on itunes for £7.99... arrrggh. i am never buying another cd ever again... went and got a library card so i can get cds from the library... and... do something with them... that i cant talk about in public...

doctor who was great this week ... i wont start talking aboutit now otherwise i will really nerd out on you

..more bloggs soon

later's... ross

My First Blog

Hello, this is my first proper blog...

i have spent far far too long today setting this up but hopefully most of the work has been done now i just have to be strict with myself about keeping it up to date. and as i have done nothing much today apart from pissing around in dreamweaver trying to get the formating to work i haven't got much to write about, and my hands a really cold so i'm finding it hard to type so this is going to have to be a short one.

Im going to bristol to meet up with my friend and ex-housemate from university, adam, which Im looking forward to, also looking forward to the noodle bar we are going to have dinner at as well

mmmmm
